A Boxing Directory for NZ

One of my great frustrations is not knowing how to contact people in the NZ boxing world.

Last year I was partially successful in getting contact information for boxing clubs and gyms... http://www.rodneyboxing.org/other_associations.htm

This came about through frustration at not being able to get this information from Boxing New Zealand Inc.

So I have an idea... Why don’t we make a directory here on the boxingnz.com website? This could include:

·         Boxers

·         Trainers & Coaches

·         Judges and Referees and Officials

·         Promoters

·         Supporters

·         Historians

·         Researchers

·         The ignorant but interested (like me)

·         etc.

It would of course be necessary to have consent from people who are listed.

It could be optional as to how much detail was listed for each person. Some for example may not want to give their phone number, or their address, or their email.

A ‘full’ listing could be:

·         Name

·         Address (physical and/or postal)

·         Phone / Mobile number

·         Email address

·         Gym or boxing organisation affiliation/membership of, and in what capacity (e.g. trainer, cleaner)

·         Personal boxing record

·         Current interests and involvement in boxing

·         Availability to help the sport by doing...

Some will not want their personal details, especially contact details, made publically accessible. That’s OK. Contact information can be optional, even though this is the main idea driving this exercise.

Including an email address in a list risks spamming by those who who find such a list and think you need a bigger penis or more Viagra. Well that’s a risk worth taking (I mean being found by spammers!). Make sure the Junk Mail filter in your email software is working properly.

Ok then, here’s the first listing (not laid out all nice in a table like it could be)...
